All About Me/Open House

We had an "All About Me" theme the week of Open House. We read books about "Me" and completed  "About Me" activities for open house.

Superheroes

We read the book, Adventure Annie Goes to Kindergarten. We then illustrated a drawing of an adventure we had in Kindergarten.

We continued the superhero theme and read a few more superhero books. We then made a superhero- This was a lot of fun!

Science- Our First Science Experiment

We have been learning a lot in science. Students illustrated a picture in their science notebooks of what science means to them. We also completed our first science experiment- Coke and mentos. We discussed what a hypothesis is and illustrated pictures of what we thought would happen when we dropped mentos candy in a bottle of coke. I was very surprised at how many students thought the coke would explode into the air. After completing our experiment and learning that the mentos candy does in fact make the coke explode into the air, we illustrated our results in our science notebooks.
